Star-Lord, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Wolverine, and Doom… The Marvel’s Wastelanders series, set in the Old Man Logan franchise, has been an audio dramatic delight to listen to this year.

Set in a dystopian reality where the bad guys won, and very few Marvel heroes survived, Marvel’s Wastelanders has taught audiences just what it means to live… hitting on some hard-boiled topics about loss, rebuilding, and mostly, on how to find hope after great tragedy.

Debuting just this past Monday, Marvel Entertainment and Sirius XM have officially released their final edition of the Wastelanders series. Effectively ending their audio story podcast with a first-ever (and final-ever) crossover event. In the final chapter, the entirety of the Wastelanders’ group seen thus far team up against Valeria Richards. The smartest immortal woman on Earth… lonely, beyond reason.

Here’s Marvel’s description of the series:

“After surviving a rain of nuclear missiles in Southern California and gaining possession of the reality-warping Cosmic Cube, she was driven to the brink of madness. Something mysterious is unfolding in this irradiated “Dead Zone” and it’s up to our heroes to find out what, and to stop Valeria from committing an act of ultimate evil.”

The Marvel’s Wastelanders series has pulled out all the stops in bringing back the podcast’s top talent for the finale. Directed by Kimberly Senior and co-written by Nick Bernardone, J. Holtham, and Mark Waid; with original sound by One Thousand Birds and music by Lindsay Jones. With many of the series stars returning including Timothy Busfield’s Star-Lord, Stephen Lang’s Hawkeye, Susan Sarandon’s Black Widow, Robert Patrick’s Wolverine, and Dylan Baker as Doctor Doom.

“Working in the aural sphere challenges us all, artists and listeners, to expand our imaginations. The series is equal parts hilarious and deeply moving, navigating big questions around grief, power, loyalty, and trust,” said series director Kimberly Senior. “Directing the final installment and bringing together the astounding talent from previous episodes made for a deeply textured experience with all the webs of relationships and stories we’ve developed over the series.”

“One of the most thrilling aspects of Marvel storytelling — whether as an audience or a creator — is when separate story threads weave together to create something rewarding for fans, that still somehow stands alone,” said Ellie Pyle, Digital Media Executive Director at Marvel. “This series unites talent from across all our Wastelanders podcasts for a truly epic team-up.”

Fans can listen to episodes 1 and 2 of Marvel’s Wastelanders now on the SXM App and Marvel Podcasts Unlimited on Apple Podcasts. Episode 1 is also available on Pandora, Stitcher, and all major podcast platforms in the U.S.
